The problem with planning in a chat

Planning a family trip with Claude is wonderful right up to the moment you are standing in Rome trying to find the kosher restaurant’s address in a 400-message transcript. The conversation is the right place to think. It is the wrong place to keep the result.

Vektrip is the other half: a small, fast app that Claude writes into over MCP, and that you open when you need the facts. One record, always current, shared with the people you travel with.

Trips first

The things you open the app for are the trip you are taking and the bookings behind it: what is held, what is confirmed, what it cost, what still needs a decision. So that is the landing page, the second tab, and the calendar. A booking checklist tells you plainly when a trip that says “booked” still has no return flight.

Then the next possibility

Most travel apps start at “book a flight”. We also start earlier. Your bucket list holds every destination you might go to one day, with a photograph, what it costs, how long it needs, which months are best and which to avoid. The planner holds the dates you could travel, and rates every idea against them. When an idea gets dates, it becomes part of a trip and brings everything with it.

Built for observant families

Shabbat and Yom Tov shape every week; kosher logistics shape every day. Vektrip shows the Hebrew date, candle lighting, havdalah and the full zmanim table for every trip day, in the destination’s own time, from Hebcal. Places have categories for shul and Chabad right next to food and sights. Your trip context (“keeps Shabbat, kosher only, stroller pacing”) is stored once and handed to Claude every time it plans. None of it is required: a single switch in Settings hides the religious layer entirely.

Zmanim are computed by Hebcal from coordinates and date. Confirm local practice with your community.

Claude acts as you

When you connect Claude, you grant it read and write access once, like any other connector. From then on, what it adds lands immediately, under exactly the permissions you have, enforced in the database. Records show when they arrived over MCP, and you can revoke the connection any time in Settings.
